Cookie and Coco Needs a Home

Seeking Home for 2 Family Dogs- Two gorgeous labs trained Cookie and Coco Contact: Katherine kjmorris74@yahoo.com

We are moving overseas in just 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have still not been able to find a good home for Cookie and Coco. We’re not able to take our beloved doggies with us and I’ve been desperately trying to find a home for both of them ‘together ‘. They were raised together and pine without each other. The Lab rescue have already said that they would probably separate them, so this is my last resort. Recently I tried to take Coco out in my car alone and she TOTALLY refused to even get into the car without Cookie……!!!! She absolutely pulled back on her haunches until Cookie was by her side.

Both doggies are in great health, have been spayed and have ID chips implanted under the skin. Cookie turned 3 December 10th and Coco turned 3 April 1st. Cookie is my mellow-yellow, and just loves her tummy rubbed. Coco is adorably funny and lives for her “ball.” She also loves the water…… Cookie loves lots of attention. Both doggies are loyal and love to walk. They have been raised with my 3 kids running around all over the place, and have survived Sammy’s constant hugging and love of ‘ dress-up ‘ , so they are fantastic family dogs.. This is by far one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but under the circumstances I have no choice. Please, please forward these pics to all your friends. I want to find a great home for these fabulous doggies. They are just adorable and it’s heartbreaking to let them go. In a perfect world, I hope that we could find someone local so that we can still keep in touch and visit them. I pray that someone, somewhere can help us keep Cookie and Coco together, and love them just as much as we do. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Restless Week

Braff Rhaff NMC Weekend Dog Group friends. You probably noticed that my silly presence was missing last weekend at the park. That’s because CK was away again and I had to stay at the Winnipeg Centennial Pet Boarding for a few days.

I had a good time as always, my day camp friends were all there. One of these days I will sneak my camera in and take pictures to show all of you. Braff Rhaff!

Although it was fun, I was really glad that CK finally picked me up after six nights. But Dawg, I was soooo tired from all the fun, that as soon as we got home, I just fell right back to sleep, I tried so hard to stay up with CK…Here is a picture he took, that sneaky guy! Oh, BTW I’ll be gone again later this week. CK is off to another trip. I miss him already. :(

My Friend Hoops

Meet Hoops, a 14 year old BFI pup. His breed is unknown. He was found in a BFI Bin with the rest of his brothers and sister when he was just a young puppy.

Although Hoops may be the oldest dog at the NMC Weekend Dog Group, he truly is a puppy at heart. Sure he may be a litle deaf, and he usually doesn’t notice me when I sneak up on  him. Braff-Rhaff!… But he enjoys chasing after his Kong and some yummy treats. You can easily spot hoops by his smile and stylish bandana around his neck.

Jesse, A Talented Jack Russell Terrier

While browsing Dog Reflections, I landed on a video of Jesse, a four year old Shortie Jack Russell Terrier. Watch this video montage of his talents. I couldn’t help but be amaze and laugh at how adorable he is.

I only wish J.R. was this talented…

Petcetera: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

For many pet owners, the news of Petcetera closing it’s door came it with some mixed emotions.

When I first heard of this news, I was surprised at how a large chain store went bankrupt?  On the home page of Petcetera, it has a Receivership Process Summary. Where PWC Inc, was appointed Trustee in. Bankruptcy and Receiver Manager of Canadian Petcetera Limited on June 16, 2009.

Here are my thoughts on it….

The Good

SALE, SALE, SALE. Petcetera is having a massive liquidation sale. Everything from food, toys, clothes, beds, and pets. Everything that a pet owner wishes for. We all understand the financial cost it is to care for our furry friends, so we appreciate and jump for joy when we see sales.

The Bad

There are 45 stores across Canada that will close it’s doors, which also means that over 1,600 jobs will be lost. In today’s economic uncertainty, every job is valuable. I’m sad to see another Canadian business collapse.

The Ugly

For those of us who are grateful and bless to have a home, a job and our furry companion. We are sad to know that some of these animals will not be as blessed. Many of them will end up in shelters waiting for adoption. SPCA is stepping in to find loving homes for these animals.

So with that, I’ll leave you with my advice to myself and for some of you out there. Visit your nearest Petcetera and purchase items for your pets or (future pets). Continue to support your local pet stores, and finally when you are considering getting a new friend, or thinking of getting your very first pet. Check out your local shelters first. You’ll be surprised at who picks you.
